| Karen is here to help on the journey you choose,
starting right where you are. She will work with you on your terms
depending on what you need at each individual session. She has been
working as a Massage Therapist for over 6 years and has encountered a
wonderful variety of people, from treating a 3-year-old boy with
craniosacral work to ladies of the young age of 89! Karen has also
worked with a local chiropractor for a year doing accident/injury
recovery work. And she has worked extensively with men and women
suffering from headaches, MS, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia and other
acute and chronic muscular conditions. Her skills range from deep to
very light-touch techniques. Karen’s emphasis is on individualized
self-care, stretching, exercising, repetitive activity awareness and
ergonomics.
She received her massage therapy education at the Florida School of
Massage in Gainesville, Florida and graduated in July 2001. Soon after
graduation Karen went to work with Michael Faas, DC who is very
experienced and who specializes in integrating massage therapy into
his chiropractic practice. She is also certified in Myofascial work
from The Core Institute, a type of massage work that is based on Ida
Rolf’s techniques with an emphasis on combining effective tissue
release with a less painful approach. Karen has also spent
considerable time studying Visionary Craniosacral Work with Hugh Milne
and the Milne Institute.
Karen has an extensive background in the insurance reimbursement
aspect of the healthcare business and is able to help you utilize your
healthcare benefits more effectively. She also offers a variety of
discounted packages that are available to make your massage sessions
more affordable.
